Theory in Nijmegen cares deeply about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services accessible through it provided by Theory in Nijmegen. The effective date of these terms is 08/12/2020. With the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions expires. This privacy policy describes what data we collect about you, what it is used for, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data from misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have provided to us. Web store software

Technology

Our online platform is developed using WordPress. The payment system and back-office are custom-developed. Payments are processed by Mollie. For our web hosting, we have chosen Oxxa. Personal data you provide to us for our services is shared with this party. Oxxa has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on our agreement with them, Oxxa is required to take appropriate security measures. These include SSL encryption. Regular backups are made to prevent data loss.

We host our web store on a self-managed server. We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of data as much as possible. These security measures include at least SSL encryption. Regular backups are made to prevent data loss.

Web hosting

We use web hosting and email services from Oxxa. Oxxa processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services—these are not personal data. Oxxa has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Oxxa is bound by confidentiality based on our agreement. For regular business email traffic, we use the services of SendGrid and Sendinblue. These parties have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. They do not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.

Payment processors

For processing (part of) the payments in our web store, we use the Mollie platform. Mollie processes your name, address, and residence details and your payment information, such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and to share (anonymized) data with third parties in this context. All the safeguards regarding the protection of your personal data mentioned above also apply to the parts of Mollie’s service for which they use third parties. Mollie does not retain your data longer than is permitted by legal time limits.

Reviews via WebwinkelKeur

We collect reviews through the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this data with us so that we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to explain your review. If we invite you to leave a review, we will share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this data only to invite you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to engage third parties to provide its services. We have given WebwinkelKeur permission to do so. All safeguards regarding the protection of your personal data mentioned above also apply to the parts of the service for which WebwinkelKeur uses third parties.

General purpose of the processing

We only use your data for the purpose of our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the order you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time—other than at your request—we will ask for your explicit permission. Your data is not shared with third parties, except to meet accounting and other administrative obligations.
These third parties are all bound to confidentiality based on the agreement between them and us or a legal obligation or oath.

Data automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. These data (such as your IP address, web browser, and operating system) are not personal data. You receive all copies and transcripts of data in the machine-readable format we use within our systems. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority if you suspect that we are using your personal data in the wrong way.

You always have the right to view the data we process (or have processed) that relates to your person or can be traced back to you. You can make such a request to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data to your known email address, including a list of the processors who have this data, stating the category under which we stored this data.

You always have the right to adjust the data we process (or have processed) that relates to your person or can be traced back to you. You can make such a request to our privacy contact person. If your request is granted, we will send you copies or transcripts of all data about you that we have processed or that has been processed on our behalf by other processors or third parties. Most likely, in such a case, we can no longer continue our services because secure linking of data files can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of Theory in Nijmegen. If you object, we will immediately cease processing your data pending the outcome of your objection. If your objection is valid, we will make copies and/or transcripts of data we process (or have processed) available to you and then permanently stop processing. You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies.
